Hey, I'm Dee.
It's nice to meet you.
I'm the person who writes most of our content over here, so hopefully it'll feel like we already know eachother.
We started The Good Sign Company in 2021 while acquiring the Durham Custom Wood Decor brand.
Who are we? My husband, Dan, and I! (He's camera shy).
Why The Good Sign Co? The name was born out of a difficult time in our lives. Back in 2018 I woke up blind in one eye due to inflammation from idiopathic uveitis.
Unable to work as I normally had, and scared about the things to come, we sold our home in Durham Region, and moved to Stirling, Ontario, where I wouldn't have to work as much in order to "get by".
As is common during challenging times, we lost a lot... but we learned some important lessons along the way too.
The most important one? Good signs are everywhere if you look hard enough.
Fast-forward to today and we're both living with Crohn's disease, working from home, and trying to make the best of this beautiful chaos we call life.
